Yes, the civilization of love is possible; it is not a utopia. But it is only possible by a constant and ready reference to the “Father from whom all fatherhood on earth is named” (cf. Eph 3:14-15), from whom every human family comes. – Bl John Paul II
To all fathers – we wish to express a very blessed and happy FATHER’S DAY! Most especially we extend this greeting to our own beloved fathers – who have shown us in so many ways the beauty of authentic fatherhood, truly a share in the paternity of God…from left to right: Norman Campbell (Sr. Marie Andre and Sr. Marie St. Paul’s Dad), Charles Beach (Sr. Mary Fidelis’ Dad), Matt Schafer (Sr. John-Mark Maria’s Dad) and Paul Smith (Sr. Tara’s Dad)
And we extend our Father’s Day greetings as well to all spiritual fathers, to our Priests – especially to our Bishop and all the Priests who so generously care for our Sacramental needs and exercise their spiritual paternity to our community. To all of you, we extend our most sincere gratitude!
“There is but one fatherhood, that of God the Father, the one Creator of the world, “of all that is seen and unseen”. Yet man, created in the image of God, has been granted a share in this one paternity of God (cf. Eph 3:15).” – Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
Aren’t you great to remember all us Padres!
Nice post. Even though my father is no longer on earth, it is nice to see a picture of a very special Priest to me. Father John, he will always be special to me from Blessed Sacrament Church. He understood me & gave me a bust of Jesus with His crown of thorns, so I could share in the sufferings of Christ when I get migraines. I just wanted to hold Jesus’ head when I hurt. Father John truly understood and like a true father gave me what I needed. All the Priests are great, but God gives us special ones to help us on our journey. Thank You.
