On Saturday, May 28th, Fr. Billy Kosco celebrated a local Mass of Thanksgiving at Our Lady of Solitude for those from the Tonopah/Buckeye area.  It was a joyful day spent giving thanks to God for choosing Tonopah as the place for our monastery.  Here in this ‘out of the way’ place Our Lord is very near!  He is reining gloriously from His new Eucharistic Throne.

Fr. Billy pointed out that monasteries are called to preserve authentic culture and tradition.  They are to provide a sense of permanence in a changing world.  It is our firm hope that Our Lady of Solitude will provide this, through our community, for the diocese of Phoenix.

Our local friends truly are great gifts to us.  Through the instrumentality of Fr. Billy, the “Ladies of Solitude Guild” of St. Henry’s Catholic Church was created.  Under the leadership of Wesley Rodermund, these wonderful women are dedicated to assisting our community in many different ways: taking several hours of Eucharistic Adoration, cleaning the Church, running errands, and just about anything else you can think of!  For the local Mass of Thanksgiving, they provided refreshments after Mass.  We are grateful for these inspiring ladies.

Enjoy the photos below of the festivities from this Mass and reception!

Note that the next Mass of Thanksgiving is on June 11th at 10 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Fred Adamson.  All are welcome!
