Future's so bright, ya gotta wear shades!

Future’s so bright, ya gotta wear shades!

We have been getting messages from folks saying that, in the world of social media, today is “Thank a Nun Day”  (how fun!) , and so we want to extend our own “thank you” to all those who have been reaching out to thank us today!

We want to add to the fun by “Thanking Seminarians” today!  And we have some big time thanks to extend to the Seminarians at the Pontifical College Josephinum who just completed their 2015 Nun Run for our Community.  They had to delay the Run at the Seminary until Ohio thawed out!  🙂  And so, their Shadow Nun Run took place this past Sunday.  They had over 40 seminarians participate and raised over $1,000 for the Monastery!  God love ’em.  (We want to extend special thanks to to Jonathan from the Diocese of Birmingham and Ian from the Diocese of Phoenix who organized the event!)

We are so grateful for the support of these seminarians and most of all for 681their vocation.  Our future priests are “running so as to win“…and we rejoice!  To reiterate the theme from this Year’s Run and as an exhortation to all those studying for the Priesthood: “Don’t stop!  Persevere in running the race…” (Heb. 12:1-2).  Let us dedicate ourselves to prayer for our seminarians and let us ask the Lord of the Harvest to send more laborers into the Harvest.

  Prayer for Vocations

O God, Father of all Mercies,
Provider of a bountiful Harvest,
send Your Graces upon those
You have called to gather the fruits of Your labor;
preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you.

Open the hearts of Your children
that they may discern Your Holy Will;
inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves
to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ.

Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths in life
guided by Your Divine Word and Truth.
Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary,
all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our prayers
and grant Your Church’s needs, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
