from left to right: Sr. Marie St. Paul, Mother Marie Andre, Erin, Heather, Barbara, Norm

On behalf of Mother Marie Andre and Sr. Marie St. Paul, we extend our deepest gratitude for all those who have accompanied their sister Heather with their prayers, as she battled brain cancer.

Bill and Heather

We ask for your continued prayers for the blessed repose of Heather’s soul, as she went to the Lord this morning around 7 a.m. California time, Solemnity of the Annunciation. Kindly remember in your prayers as well all those who mourn her loss, especially for her husband and son (Bill and Liam), her parents (Norm and Barbara) and her sisters (Erin, Mother Marie Andre and Sr. Marie St. Paul).

The words spoken by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI about the death of Pope St. John Paul II seem particularly appropriate today:

“He crossed the threshold of the next life, entering into the mystery of God.  But he did not take this step alone.  Those who believe are never alone – neither in life nor in death.  At that moment, we could call upon the Saints from every age – his friends, his brothers and sisters in the faith – knowing that they would form a living procession to accompany him into the next world, into the glory of God.  We knew that his arrival was awaited.  Now we know that he is among his own and is truly at home.”

There is a deep consolation in grief, as we saw first hand how tenderly Heather was accompanied by those who love her – both her family and friends on earth and her family and friends in Heaven…but most especially by the King of Mercy, Jesus Christ, and His Immaculate Mother.

Weeks ago, when it was evident that the end of her life was nearing, Mother Marie Andre entrusted Heather to the intercession of St. Faustina, St. Therese, and St Bernadette.  Yesterday, on Divine Mercy Sunday, Heather received the Last Rites and the promise of Divine Mercy, through the prayerful intercession of St. Faustina.  Today, the day of her death, also is the 130th St. Therese’s anniversary of her entrance into Carmel.  And finally, we are one week to the day away from the Feast of St. Bernadette.  Their intercession and closeness during this time is evident and deeply comforting.

We thank you for your continued prayers for the blessed repose of Heather’s soul.
