Hello to All. Sorry that we’ve been ‘out of touch’ with you! It’s no excuse, but things have been so busy! Below is a little slideshow that we hope you enjoy. It includes some photos of the priceless moments of this Christmas and the kick-off of 2009!
God is good. He has provided us with more joy and excitement than we know what to do with. Our greatest joy thus far this year has been the acceptance of our new Postulant, Sr. Michele Schafer. She is a wonderful addition to our little ‘band of sisters’. You can see photos on our website: www.desertnuns.com
We are standing on the brink of some pretty big steps with the whole construction project! It’s pretty awesome – but the details will have to wait until Sr. Mary Blogger can fill you in. I’m just her pinch-hitter so to speak! She’ll be back in touch soon. Till then, please keep our construction project/fundraising in your prayers! We thank you and assure you of our prayers as well! – The PCPAs
Thanks for sharing and God Bless you all and your new “addition”. I will pray for Sr. Michelle and all of you often.
Debra
Liked the slide show, but only one doggie picture. You had me worried, he was all the way at the end. Hope all is going well with the construction. You guys are always in my prayers.

I am a student at Walsh University and Sr. Michele had a great impact on my life and got the opportunity to see be baptized and confirmed into the Catholic church before she left to join the sisterhood. God Bless her she is a wonderful person
Are you a pre-Vatican or breakoff community? The pictures of Mass look like my childhood–priest facing away from the people, the tabernacle on the altar, etc. Even the vestments look like my childhood! Nothing necessary wrong (or necessarily right) with this, but you all seem so contemporary in other ways. What’s up??
Wasn’t it Pope Benedict XVI who gave everyone the choice of celebrating Mass facing the people or not. Me personally, I like the Priest facing Jesus also just like us. So I don’t think that it’s a pre-vatican thing as in a choice of how worship is done in that particular parish. I think their vestments are beautiful too. So what’s the right answer Sisters? I have been wondering why the sisters switched back to the traditional habit after the contemporary on?
The Habit change came from Mother Angelica. I believe it’s when she got mad at the Denver gathering for Pope John Paul II and a Parish in Denver actually had a woman portray Jesus. So it was her way of making a stand and not leave any doubt in anyone’s minds what they all are and what they are about. I like the traditional habit, I think it’s a pretty cool statement. Read Mother Angelica’s book on her life that Raymond wrote. The whole story is in there. Lisa & Shadow
Loved the update, great to hear you have a new member. All of you are iin my thought and prayers. Kathleen in Maine
I am very happy to see that there is a PCPA convent so near to me here in Arizona.I moved here 4yrs ago.I missed being near a convent like this.Is it possible to make a silent retreat at your convent?
Betty
Betty I would write them directly at their “contact us” link. I don’t think they ever answer questions on the blogs but they do read them.
Sr. Marie St. Paul looks beaming as Sr. Michelle received her veil. It’s good to see people smiling anymore! Thank you for remembering us in your prayers as we keep you in thoughts and prayers as well. I know my prayer life has dramatically changed since watching EWTN and keeping in touch with the nuns through the internet. God bless your endeavors!
I like these verses from Bible, and would like to share them with you. For we should love Gods word so much
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God
Romans 6: 23 For wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ jesus
Romans 5:8 God proved his love to us in yet while we were sinners Christ died for us
Romans 10:9-13 If you confess with your mouth that jesus is Lord and beleive in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved
Turn from sin, and place faith and trust in Christ alone
James 2:19 You believe there is a God good even demons do
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace that one is saved and this is not of works
Psalm 14:3 for there is no one who does good not even one.
Sin has a price and that price is hell, so turn from sin and place faith in Christ and give him the wheels to your car and have control of your life

That sure sounds like a Protestant sounding off on a Catholic blog. Get over the scripture about the works. We all know works don’t get anyone to heaven. The only works that get us to heaven is the work Jesus did for us. And you can stop emphasizing the Christ alone, cause we all know what you are really saying. Leave Mary and all the Saints out of the picture. And since this is a nun’s website, as far as I know they really don’t need a lesson on sin. They already gave Jesus all authority over their lives becoming nuns and wearing the marriage ring to Christ.
So what is the deal with all the preaching?
That sure sounds like a Protestant sounding off on a Catholic blog.
I’ve seen the comment by the previous commenter on two other Catholic blogs recently – the Summit Dominicans and a Catholic Deacon’s blog, there may be other sites that it can be found on as Google’s web searcher thingies (technical term, that!) catch up with them.
Sisters,
When time allows, please update your website with current construction pictures and information. How wonderful all the artists’ renderings look! Certainly, the visual scape will be so conducive for prayer.
I’m sure they are extremely busy with getting ready to move. Maybe we need to give a little time to get it together. Remember they were going to move to the property to be there during the building. I’m sure they are feeling a little overwhelmed right now. Hang in there Sisters. Always lighting candles for you’all. Lisa & Shadow
