“…silence is above all the positive attitude of someone who prepares to welcome God by listening.”
– Cardinal Robert Sarah

Surrounded by our rustic desert environment, visitors often remark how it is easy to understand why the Lord often went to the desert and to the mountains to pray to His Heavenly Father!  Our Lady of Solitude Chapel provides a simple place a solitude and silence for all those seeking an encounter with Christ in the desert.

Since opening our doors in 2010, we’ve been privileged to welcome priests, deacons, religious, as well as many laity (both young and old) for retreat days. In the Fall and Winter months, parishes and schools often bring groups of parishioners or students to spend time in Eucharistic Adoration, enjoying the prayerful silence of Our Lady of Solitude Monastery.  Throughout the year, many individuals escape from the busyness of daily life, and spend a desert day of prayer and recollection in this ideal setting.
